Al-Tiba9 Contemporary: new art gallery and a space for contemporary art and artistic promotion in a historical building in Barcelona.

10th Anniversary Show

The exhibition of this artistic manifestation was born in Algiers in 2013 and then spread internationally in 2015. This year, it presents a retrospective exhibition of the last 10 years (2013-2023). The curator of the exhibition and founder of Al-Tiba9, Mohamed Benhadj, brings together international artists for this show. Each artist represents a specific year and symbolizes their participation in previous editions of Al-Tiba9 that took place at the BARDO National Museum in Algiers, MAMA Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Algiers, UPF Pompeu Fabra de la Ciutadella in Barcelona.

As in Algiers, the Catalan artistic scene will, therefore, be invited to experience the exhibitions of curator Mohamed Benhadj through a cutting-edge selection of works of art in painting, photography, installation, sculpture, video, and light design. The 10th edition of Al-Tiba9 and the gallery's inauguration will occur during the Barcelona Art Week, which coincides with the contemporary art fair SWAB Barcelona 2023, a meeting place for Catalan, Spanish, and international art galleries. Al-Tiba9 has become not only an annual exhibition of contemporary art but also a large art gallery, a space of inspiration, and a community of international artists whose founder is the Algerian Mohamed Benhadj.
