Santiago Paredes
Argentinian. Born in 1988 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Educated primarily through the internet, independent publications, album covers, and art monographs, Paredes constructs complex scenes containing multiple references, appropriations, and simulations that actively engage with the history of images. His work is influenced by diverse interests, including Persian miniatures, Japanese prints, haute couture fashion, and contemporary pop culture.
The central theme of her work revolves around the poeticization of the everyday, composition through color, simile, and the liminal space between art and design. Her latest series of works represents a significant shift in her practice, moving away from her research into digital media and printing methods to delve once again into the realm of analog painting.
